General information
The Library of the Institute collects general
information concerning computer science and mathematics' books and periodicals. The
Library has 15 000 books and 626 volumes of journals. For information retrieval and
facilitation of reader service there is an on-line computer catalogue which all readers
can use. This is easy to operate and is very popular with students. It can find books and
it shows whether they are on the shelves or on loan. The local computer network of the
Library is connected to the Jagiellonian Library. Photocopying facilities are also
provided.
Since 1993 the Library has been introducing an integrated system
of library services - VTLS. This work has been done under the Jagiellonian Library
supervision. At present the process of cataloging and circulation has been automated. The
OPAC catalogue covers the whole collection of several university libraries. However, the
main entry to it is through the Jagiellonian Library. Our readers consist mainly of the
Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (Jagiellonian University). Al. The others, who are
interested in our collection, may use materials on the spot. There is also a possibility
of using the interlibrary loan.
The Library staff make every effort to assist the reader to make
best use of the library. Above all, personal assistance is available at the enquiry desk
and the library staff are always willing to help.
